The Ministry of Transport in the east-based parallel government has demanded all airplanes taking off from Misurata and Mitiga airports in western Libya to land at Benina airport in Benghazi.

A letter by the aviation authority in the eastern region addressed to the airline companies, confirms that the new resolution has been issued by the transport ministry of the eastern authority and noted that it covers flights heading for Jordan, Sudan, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

It explained that the order was for “security and customs procedures", according to the letter, noting that the resolution will come into effect as from the 14th of November.
