Tripoli's Medical Chamber confirmed on Wednesday the release of the doctors who were kidnapped and transferred to the city of Zintan more than ten days ago, while on their way to Ghadames city among a medical convoy.

"The doctors arrived in Tripoli yesterday and are all in good condition," the medical chamber said.

Families of the kidnapped doctors and their colleagues have held protests to demand their release and pressed on the authorities to take action or otherwise further steps would be taken including suspending work at the Central Hospital of Tripoli, one of the main and largest hospitals in the capital.

The abduction came against the backdrop of the detention of a resident of Zintan city by security services in Tripoli, where the relatives of the detained demanded his release in exchange for the doctors, according to the director of Ghadames Hospital, Mohammed Al-Thani.
