Local Sources from the town of Dirj, some 550 km south-west of Tripoli, said that an armed group attacked the polling stations for the municipal elections of the town and stole the ballot boxes before they could be restored to resume the electoral process once again.

The Office of the Electoral Affairs in the Ministry of Interior stressed that it is following up the electoral process taking place in the municipalities of Dirj and Bani Walid, which commenced on Saturday morning.

The Ministry of Interior has assigned security teams to work in full swing, in order to secure the ballot boxes and ensure that election takes place under the best conditions.
