The Italian Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, stated that achieving stability in Libya at this moment is the most immediate challenge for Italy, according to the Nova news agency.

During the opening of the annual Mediterranean Dialogue Forum, Di Maio stressed that the Paris conference reaffirmed Libya’s sovereignty and international support for achieving stability within the framework of the Berlin and United Nations process.

Di Maio reiterated that the outcomes of the Paris conference called on Libyan players to commit in a more encouraging manner, to a free, fair, inclusive and credible electoral process on December 24, stressing that the withdrawal of mercenaries and foreign fighters from Libyan soil remains a top priority for all, according to him.
