The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is due to host an economic conference on Monday, May 31, under the theme “New Libya is prepared to present itself to Italian companies”, which coincides with the visit of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdel Hamed Dbeibah to Rome.

The Ministry stated that Dbeibah and the Foreign Minister of Italy, Luigi Di Maio are likely to deliver speeches in various sessions, whilst the conference will be supervised by the Italian Foreign Ministry’s Undersecretary, Manlio Di Stefano, according to a statement reported by the Italian Nova agency on Friday 28 May.

Di Maio visited Tripoli on May 28, accompanied by a European delegation, where he talked about the European Union’s desire for the new and revitalized Libya to be a partner in various sectors, stressing his support for the new authority in Libya in the path of restoration of stability and economic reconstruction.
