The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, held discussions with the Turkish Minister of Defense, Hulusi Akar, on Monday, regarding the latest developments in Libya.

The two sides met on the sidelines of an official visit by Dbeibah to Ankara, where he attended a high-level strategic cooperation council meeting between both countries.

Akar stated during the meeting that Turkey’s aim is to contribute to the formation of a unified Libya, regionally and politically to enable stability and peace in the country.

He stressed that his country would continue to provide assistance, training and advisory support in the fields of security and defense for their Libyan brothers.
