Cyrenaica Commission has reaffirmed its support for the Libyan-Turkish memoranda of understandings on cooperation in the maritime and security fields, calling for accelerating the implementation of the two MoUs in a manner that guarantees the sovereignty of the state and preserves the rights of future generations.

In its statement issued yesterday, the commission said it had studied the MoUs and presented it to a number of experts specialized in international agreements and marine science, who have assured that the MoUs do not contravene Libya's sovereignty and would have no effect on the country's wealth and resources.

"The conclusion of this MoUs is an inherent jurisdiction of the Government of National Accord (GNA) and the Libyan Foreign Ministry, being the legitimate and internationally recognized government," the commission stressed.
