The Scientific Advisory Committee in the municipality of Bani Walid announced on Sunday a complete curfew, suspension of all studies, and the closure of markets and public meeting places for the period of two weeks starting immediately.
The Committee explained that this measure came as a result of the very worrying increase in active cases of the Coronavirus, the rate of fatalities and the citizens’ lack of commitment in following the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
The Committee stressed the necessity to take seriously the prevention of holding social events, including weddings, and on the matter of funerals, condolences should be sent by phone or social media to the family members of the deceased in order to prevent gatherings.
