The Libyan Coast Guard rescued on Saturday, 86 illegal immigrants from aboard a rubber boat north of Abu Kammash district, west of the Libyan capital Tripoli.

The spokesperson of the Libyan Navy, Ayoub Qasim clarified that the immigrants were of different African nationalities, noting that they were later transferred to the shelter center of the Illegal Immigration Agency in Tajoura suburb after providing them with necessary medical and humanitarian assistance.

Among the rescued migrants were 15 women and 9 children from 9 African countries, besides others from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Sudan.
