Libyan Coast Guard patrols rescued 1,047 illegal immigrants from different nationalities, including a significant number of women and children on Saturday, according to the official Facebook page of the Libyan Navy Information Office.

The search and rescue operation took place in three different areas including north of Sabrata, north of Talil and north of the Wadi area where migrants were on board eight rubber boats.

The immigrants were safely returned to the beach and necessary humanitarian assistance was provided. The illegal immigrants were later handed over to the Immigration Control Unit in the city of Zawiya.
