The Spokesman of the Libyan Navy, Ayoub Qasim, has declared that a coast guard patrol rescued on Sunday 180 illegal migrants who were sailing aboard two rubber boats north of the coast of Garabulli town, east of Tripoli.

Qasim clarified that the migrants included 15 women and 7 children and were of different African nationalities, in addition to some others from Egypt and Syria.

He noted that the migrants were handed over to the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency in Sikkah Road in Tripoli after providing them with humanitarian assistance at Tripoli Naval Base.
