The Chinese Ambassador to Libya, Wang Qimin, has affirmed his country's support for Libya's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity and to help the conflicting parties in Libya bridge the gap and build consensus.
Qimin was quoted by the Libyan News Agency as saying that there is a need to find a solution to the political impasse through dialogue and consultation as soon as possible and to create conditions for presidential and parliamentary elections.
He called for the withdrawal of foreign forces and mercenaries from the Northern African country as soon as possible, emphasizing China's support for the role of the United Nations as the main channel for mediation between the Libyan parties.
