The Undersecretary of Education, Adel Jumaa, announced Saturday that the ministry issued a decree exempting the children of martyrs, missing people and those who were disabled as a result of the uprising of the 17th of February from paying tuition fees.

In a press statement, Jumaa said that the Ministry of Education agreed to the request submitted by the Association of the Families of Martyrs and Missing Persons to exempt those mentioned from paying for school education.

Public schools and universities in Libya are free of charge for Libyan students except for the purchase of textbooks and for students who wish to obtain master's and doctorate degrees from the Academy of Graduate Studies.
