The head of the UN Sanctions Committee on Sudan, Joanna Wronecka, said that the State of Southern Sudan has reduced its support for the Darfur rebels, while the presence of those groups has witnessed an increase in the Libyan territory.

In its quarterly briefing to the Security Council, Wronecka called on the UN Sanctions Committee on Libya to cooperate in monitoring the Darfur rebels and their movements in Libya, in addition to develop a common approach to prevent them from engaging in activities that might threaten the regional peace and security.

The report of the Panel of Experts on Sudan issued last January urged Libya to prevent the financing or supply of arms and equipment to rebel movements in Darfur.
