Chadian security forces arrested 16 young men attempting to leave the country illegally, heading for Libya to join other rebels already in the country.

The Chadian newspaper, Le Journal de Chad, stated that 16 young men, including a minor, were handed over to the Chadian National Gendarmerie, noting that the Chadian authorities had taken measures to prevent the departure of its citizens to Libya, fearing they would join other rebels already fighting in the ranks of Haftar.

The Chadian newspaper quoted the Public Prosecutor of the Supreme Court as saying that investigations will be conducted to determine whether these young people did, in fact, intend to join rebels, adding that if this is proven, they will be held accountable for their actions in court, particularly after the killing of former President, Idriss Deby, at the hands of rebels previously fighting in Libya.
