The Medical Supply System supervising the central and eastern regions has received its allocations of the second Russian Sputnik vaccine as part of the action plan developed by the National Center for Disease Control to begin its second vaccine rollout to the wider population across the country.

Abdel Moneim Al-Ouzi, a senior official at the Medical Supply System, said Thursday that the vaccines would be deployed to all concerned centres across Libya in coordination with the Interior Ministry, hoping that the new consignment would enhance the average administering of doses considerably.

The health authorities have also begun distributing the US Pfizer vaccine to health facilities in Tripoli under the COVAX agreement.
