The member of the Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA) Daw Al-Mansouri, said those who want to have elections without a constitution are “dual citizenship holders” who want to scrap Article 99 of the constitution draft, saying when they arrive in power, they will devise a constitution that allows them to remain in their posts and continue to receive foreign support.

The article says the candidates for presidential elections should have no dual citizenships and if they do, they should have renounced them a year before announcing they were running for president of Libya. The Article also says the candidates shouldn’t have a foreign wife.

Al-Mansouri explained that Article 192 of the draft also says that dual citizenships’ holders shouldn’t occupy sovereign posts.
