The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) Al-Siddiq Al-Kabir discussed in Washington with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, Joey Hood, cooperation programs with American institutions, a statement by the CBL said on Wednesday.

The statement said the discussion included supporting the independence of the CBL and solving the challenges facing the resumption of US firms’ projects in Libya as well as the unification of the CBL.

The meeting came as part of continuous coordination with the US ambassador in Libya, Richard Norland.

Al-Kabir also met with other US officials on his visit to Washington, including US Treasury Department’s Office of Sponsoring Terrorism and Financial Crimes.
