The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) announced on Thursday the adoption of a national strategy to tackle money laundering and terrorist financing in Libya.

This came during the third periodic meeting of the National Committee to Combat Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism, chaired by the Governor of the CBL, Saddek Elkaber and members of the committee representing the relevant executive authorities.

The committee discussed Libya's chair for the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force (MENAFATF) for 2019 and the priority actions required, according to the CBL.
