The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Marriage Support Fund, Khaled Boujnah, has confirmed that the Central Bank approved another billion LYD to support young people seeking to tie the knot, though he said an official memo in this regard was not yet available.

Boujnah clarified in media statements that work is still underway to finalize the procedures of the former approved couples, as he expects to start accepting the newlyweds' applications by next week.

He said that the ongoing rumors suggesting fraud are incorrect, stressing that the Fund sent a copy of its inputs to the Administrative Control Authority, the Public Prosecution, the government, and all relevant authorities, to investigate the validity of their data.

On the conditions for registration, the system will not accept those under 18 years of age, while any woman who has been married before has the right to benefit from the established grant per the terms and conditions of the decision, according to Boujnah.
