The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed in a formal letter Wednesday that Al-Ahli Tripoli had qualified to the round of 32 of the Confederation Cup.

The confirmation came after misinformation about the status of Al-Ahli following the disqualification of Biashara United of Tanzania which failed to play the second leg match at Benina Martyrs stadium, citing flight problems.

Al-Ahli qualified despite losing the first leg match to the Tanzanian team 0-2 away. It is now set to play a Malian team for a ticket to the group stage of Confederation Cup, while Al-Ittihad is going to play Nigerian Enyimba.
