Speaker of Parliament, Aqila Saleh, has defended the procedures for amending the 12th Article of the draft constitution and the appointment of a new prime minister in the country.

Saleh's remarks came during a phone call with British Ambassador to Libya, Caroline Hurndall, according to a statement by the Parliament (HoR) on Sunday.

The HoR speaker discussed with the British ambassador the latest developments in Libya and ways to enhance joint cooperation with the United Kingdom.

Meanwhile, Hurndall disclosed plans to meet Aqila Saleh during her visit to the eastern region in the next two days.
