The British ambassador to Libya, Frank Baker, visited the city of Sirte on Tuesday, during which he held a meeting with mayor Mukhtar Maadani as well as members of the Municipal Council, the director of the Sirte Security Directorate and the commander of the Sirte Protection Force.

During the meeting, mayor Maadani presented the British ambassador and his delegation with details of the damage caused by the war against ISIS in 2016.

The Mayor also conveyed the suffering of the affected families whose homes were damaged by the war and described the destruction of educational and health institutions and services as well as the Sirte International Airport.

The spokesman of the Municipal Council of Sirte stated that the British ambassador expressed the readiness of his government to contribute to the reconstruction of Sirte and support the security services and the maintenance of educational and health institutions.
