25 Egyptian migrants coming from their country have disappeared after a boat sank in the Mediterranean off Talmitha coast, eastern Libya, the Tolmitha Maritime Rescue Unit stated.

According to unofficial sources, the Libyan authorities had rescued six and recovered two bodies of the migrants, while the search is still underway for 19 missing persons.

The Egyptian Ministry of Immigration has not issued any statements so far, while the rescue unit announced that the cause of the sinking of the boat was due to its overload.
