US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a phone conversation on Friday with his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra, in which they talked over the situation in Libya, the US Department of State said in a statement Friday.

Over and above bilateral issues, the two sides discussed regional pressing files, including developments in Libya, Tunisia, and the Sahel.

Both sides agreed on the need for a sovereign, stable, and unified Libya with no foreign interference, according to the statement.
