The Director of Criminal Investigation Department of Benghazi, Salah Huwaidi, revealed that he will resign from his post after the clashes that broke out between members of the Criminal Investigation Department and fighters from Zawiya Martyrs’ Brigade of Dignity Operation.
"When the time forces you to point your weapon at those who were once on your side, this reflects a dangerous turn of events and forces me to offer my apologies and ask for my exemption from work", Huwaidi explained on Facebook.
Violent clashes took place on Venice Street in Benghazi on Sunday, leaving at least two people dead and others injured.
