The eastern city of Benghazi received Wednesday assistance in basic needs including medical equipment, and medical and surgical equipment to support the IDPs on Wednesday.

This came during a visit by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Libya, Roberto Mignone, and the head of the International Organization for Migration in Libya, Othman Alblisi to Benghazi Municipality.

The aid was provided in response to the request of the Mayor of Benghazi, Abdulrahman Alabbar, on the opening of offices of the UNHCR in the city.

Aid will be distributed to hospitals, to support the displaced with basic nonfood needs.

It was also agreed to provide mobile classrooms, especially for schools in the affected areas, including furniture and study materials.
