Contact with a number of Benghazi activists who announced in a video the "National Peace Initiative" yesterday has been lost, Al-Wasat news website quoted sources from civil society institutions as saying.
According to the same sources, the other activists appeared in the video fear that they would be subjected to harassment and prosecution by the authorities in the east.
A group of activists in the eastern region issued a statement yesterday bearing the title of "The National Peace Initiative" and called for an end to the war on Tripoli.
