Belgium is involved in the disposal of Libyan frozen assets, reports say

Belgian newspaper "The Standard" revealed in a report that the Belgian government had released 2.7 billion euros in interest out of 14 billion euros of Libyan frozen funds since 2011.

The report said that interest revenues from Libyan funds are amounted to 12 billion euros, adding that the Belgian Parliament is studying a document indicating the disposal of these funds.

The Finance Committee of the Belgian parliament invited lawyers to follow up the case linked to the Euroclear Bank, according to the report.
