The Administration of the Bani Walid Museum has begun maintenance and restoration work in sections of the museum, which is located in the city center, in readiness for its reopening to all visitors.

The Maintenance supervisors explained that an assessment of the damage to the museum has been carried out, stating that a lot of the damage has been as a result of heavy combat in the area, along with other natural factors, which has been noted prior to the start of urgent and basic maintenance work.

Maintenance and restoration of the museum will take place under the watchful eye of the Libyan Antiquities Authority, which is to include the correction of electrical power lines, wall paintings and landscape of the surrounding gardens. All of this work is aimed at an improvement of up to 50%.
