The Interior Ministry has dispatched a humanitarian aid aircraft to the city of Ghat in cooperation with the Presidential Council (PC) on Saturday.

The plane was loaded with tents and food items, while another plane is scheduled to be sent later Sunday, in order to alleviate the suffering of the flood victims, according to the Crisis Committee of the Ministry of Interior.

Since last Monday, Ghat has seen torrential rains, which mixed with sewage water and resulted in the death of three people in addition to several others still missing.

Water floods also caused the destruction of houses, where more than 2,000 people have been displaced to safer locations.
