The Commissioner for Peace and Security of the African Union (AU), Smaїl Chergui, concurred with the envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Libya Jan Kubis, on the necessity for closer cooperation between both parties to prevent fracturing into separate pathways of the political solution to the crisis.

The two sides agreed, during a telephone conversation on Monday, to strengthen relations between the UN and the AU, to support the Libyan parties, placing an emphasis on the necessity to continue working within the framework of the political track, which emanated through the Berlin Conference, according to Chergui’s post on his Twitter account.
