The Executive Council of the African Union adopted during its thirty-second session of the AU Summit in Addis Ababa Libya's candidature for membership of the United Nations Human Rights Council for the period 2020/2022, according to the Libyan Foreign Ministry.
This step will contribute to the success of Libya to be a member of the UN Human Rights Council elections, to be held during the United Nations General Assembly next October.
