The Congolese Foreign Minister Jean-Claude Gakosso has called for an emergency meeting of all international actors concerned with the Libyan file.

The Congolese minister, whose country is chairing the African Union's High Committee on Libya, told Radio France International that it would be difficult to hold elections on December 24 because the Libyans are not ready.

"We do not see how we can organize presidential elections without an electoral campaign," Gakosso said.

Media reports hinted at a possible visit of an AU committee this week to Libya to participate in the elections monitoring process.
