The Investigation Department of the Attorney General’s Office stated that it is presently conducting an investigation into reports regarding the reasons for delay in the contract to supply the Coronavirus vaccine.

The Investigation Department summoned representatives of the Ministry of Health, along with members of the Scientific Advisory Committee to Combat the Coronavirus Pandemic and the Director of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) Badr Al-Din Al-Najar, in order to listen to their statements on the matter.

The department added that it would follow up on the Head of the Presidential Council’s decision to form a committee to supervise the executive plan to provide vaccinations, contracted through the Covax global Covid-19 vaccine program, in cooperation with UNICEF.
