The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) said on Saturday that an armed group attacked Al-Ruwais Ruwais power station and its staff.
GECOL explained that the gunmen beat the operators of the station and forced them to disconnect some of the main lines, adding that they threw a hail of bullets at the station, causing damage to it.
It also demanded all security authorities to take appropriate measures to solve these problems and protect the electrical grid.
