The General Electricity Company confirmed that an armed group in Shuwairf town in the southern region has abducted the drivers of three trucks loaded with electrical materials.

On its Facebook page, the company explained that the shipment of the three cars was sent to remedy the low electric voltage and emergency bottlenecks in the south, in addition to upgrade the electrical connections.

The company called on the security authorities and officials in the municipality of Shuwairf and the southern region to provide safety and security so it would be able to carry out its work effectively and without risks, demanding the immediate release of the drivers and the recovery of the cargo.

The company's stations and towers in the south have been subjected to continued looting in the last period, which had its impact on the energy supply and caused long hours of power cutting in the southern region.
