The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, discussed on Thursday with the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Othman Al-Jarandi, the latest Libyan political developments.
 
During the meeting, the two sides agreed on the importance of strengthening the role of the neighboring countries of Libya and the Arab League in order to support Libyans in this important stage of the transition process that the country is going through, especially after the selection of the new executive authority, and the existing preparations to give it confidence.
 
They also stressed the need to complete the rest of the requirements that will lead to hold the national elections that the Libyans agreed to take place at the end of this year, according to a statement issued by the Arab League.
