The League of Arab States called for an immediate cessation of hostilities, insisting that a political solution is the only way to restore stability in Libya and eliminate terrorism.

The League, at its meeting, at the ministerial level, on Tuesday, expressed deep concern about the military escalation in the country, stating that it is threatening the security and stability of Libya, its neighbouring countries, and the region as a whole.

It also emphasized support for the implementation of the Skhirat Agreement as the sole reference for a political solution, and the importance of the Presidential Council (PC) role, as the only internationally recognized legitimate authority, reaffirming the necessity to respect the sovereignty of Libya and its rejection of all outside interference in its affairs.
