Vice President of the Presidential Council (PC) Ahmed Maiteeq said that the decision of the PC's head Fayez Al-Sarraj regarding the mandate of the new Health Minister Ahmaida bin Omar has been suspended.

Maiteeq cited that the decision violates the terms of the political agreement in respect of selection of ministers, as he put it.

“The political agreement states in its first annex that the selecting or dismissing of ministers is to be approved by the majority of the PC members,” Maiteeq explained in a statement, pointing out that the decision has not been forwarded to the Presidential Council for approval.
