Al-Harouge Oil Company said on Sunday that the storage tank No. 2 at Ras Lanuf oil port was set ablaze due to the clashes taking place in the oil Crescent region.

The company explained through its Facebook page that the storage tank contains about 200 thousand barrels of crude oil.

This was the second storage tank to burst into flames after the storage tank No.12 was also damaged as a result of the armed clashes between the so-called Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) of the central region led by Ibrahim Jadran and the forces of warlord Khalifa Haftar, who are taking hold of the oil ports since September 2016.

Jadran forces are now in control of Ras Lanuf and Sidra oil ports.
