Amnesty International welcomed the approval by the United States House of Representatives of on Libya Stabilization Act, put in place to impose sanctions and prevent visas being issued to either individuals or groups directly threatening the peace process and human rights in Libya.

The organization stated, in a series of tweets on its official Twitter account, that the decision comes following the misery suffered by Libyans for many years, due to the armed conflict, insecurity, uncertainty, and frequent violations of human rights.

It described the legislation as “decisive” and great support for Libyan rights and the rebuilding of the country.
