Amnesty International has called on the Libyan judiciary and the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) to exclude people suspected of crimes under international law from the December presidential elections until completing the investigations into the allegations against them.

The organization warned of these people's access to positions that might enable them to commit other violations, cover up crimes, interfere in investigations, or give them immunity from prosecution, according to a statement on its Facebook page, Friday.

It may be worth noting that Saif Gaddafi, wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for committing war crimes, and Khalifa Haftar, who is facing charges in US courts for similar charges; Both are candidates in the Libyan presidential elections.
