A member of the Presidential Council (PC), Mohamed Ammari Zayed, confirmed that the High National Electoral Commission (HNEC) is prepared to hold parliamentary elections within six months.

Ammari’s statements came following his meeting with the head of HNEC, Imad Al-Sayeh, to discuss the commission’s preparations for the parliamentary elections, on the basis of the provisional constitutional declaration.

The meeting also covered discussions on the possibility of conducting the electoral process for displaced Libyan citizens and methods to make it easier for them to nominate and vote, regardless of their situation of displacement and present areas of residence.
