U.S. Ambassador, Richard Norland, along with UNICEF’s new Special Representative for Libya Abdulkadir Musse, held a telephone meeting on Monday to discuss the work of UNICEF in Libya.

The meeting dealt with a range of issues facing the health and welfare of all children in Libya, including the lack of vaccines, the safety of migrant children, the monitoring and reporting on child recruitment, along with coordinating efforts to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to the Embassy, Norland emphasized the full support of the United States for the work and efforts of UNICEF, particularly after the great progress in the Libyan political dialogue.
