The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced the arrival of a convoy of experts, sent by the Algerian government, in coordination with the Presidential Council (PC) on Friday afternoon, to the Khums Power Station.

The GECOL stated that the Algerian experts have begun to assess the situation and the expected times for completion of the project in preparation for operating the two generation units, as an emergency project to implement increased production capacity to 500MW.

The Company indicated that the repair and improvement of the two units would reduce the severe impact and crisis, presently experienced in the city of Tripoli in particular and the electrical network in general.
