The Algerian Foreign Ministry has condemned the recent clashes that took place in the capital, Tripoli, on Friday night, between armed groups, warning all Libyan parties of the “consequences of bushing the country into chaos”.

The Ministry also confirmed that it is following with great concern the developments of the situation in Libya, calling to avoid violence, according to the Algerian News Agency.

"This dangerous development, which comes on the eve of the resumption of the joint constitutional committee's work in Cairo under the auspices of the United Nations, confirms the urgent need to expedite the completion of drafting the constitutional basis that would enable the Libyan people to exercise their sovereign right to choose their leaders through free and fair elections”, it added.
