Chairman of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj discussed with U.S. Ambassador Richard Norland in on Monday ways of ending the fighting in Tripoli.

"They discussed prospects for a suspension of hostilities around Tripoli and efforts to find a political solution to the conflict in light of escalating Russian intervention," The U.S. Embassy tweeted.

Meanwhile, Maltese Ambassador Charles Saliba and U.S. Ambassador Richard Norland met in Tunis on Tuesday to review the current developments in Libya. Both ambassadors reiterated that there is no military solution for Libyan crisis and that only ceasefire and return to dialogue will bring stability
