Chairman of the Presidential Council (PC), Fayez Al-Sarraj issued a decision prohibiting state officials from convening meetings with any external parties or entities, without the PC's permission.

According to a circular issued on Thursday, the decision stipulates that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to be provided with reports of the outcomes of such meetings.

The step comes in the context to control the functioning of public institutions, in order to prevent any violations that could harm the public interest, according to the PC's Media Office.
