The US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, and the US Defense Attaché have confirmed that progress is being made on reopening the coastal road, as called for by the 5+5 Joint Military Commission.

These remarks came in a call Wednesday by Norland with the Libyan Minister of Defense Salah Al-Namroush, who also reaffirmed the need for avoiding a shutdown on exports from some oil terminals as a result of salary issues involving Petroleum Facilities Guard members.

The US embassy said in a statement on Facebook that ambassador Norland congratulated Al-Namroush and all Libyans on the progress made in the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in Geneva toward naming a new interim executive authority in the coming days.
